I wrote this back in April but it is a great reminder to read it again. The other side is way deeper than we can ever imagine, and way more beautiful.
As I’m getting further into the animal spirit world, I am discovering that they truly are the absolute purest form of love. Often, humans look at them as inferior creatures, placed here to serve us… but the truth is that many animals are here to TEACH us. Their thoughts, love and feelings go so much deeper than humanity as a whole gives them credit for.
This week I was told that by talking to animals in this way that I am doing the devil’s work. That is a very close minded and self centered view in my opinion. Let me take a moment to give you some of the highlights of my week.
Because there are still a lot of people who judge this kind of work, are skeptical or believe you are communing with the devil… it is really touching when someone acknowledges the healing good work that you are doing. Earlier in the week, I did a free read in one of the groups I am in. Later the lady’s son contacted me and said how much he appreciated what I communicated from his dog who had passed. He was devastated, especially because of the circumstances surrounding the death, which I will not say here. He thought people and animals simply went to darkness when they passed. I took some time to share some information about the afterlife as I have experienced it through animals. What I thought was so nice was that he posted about it on his own page and it made me feel like I made a difference and brought comfort to their family. Then, another lady commented something like Thank the Lord for giving us special people who can help with the loss of loved ones and pets. I am not out to prove myself to anyone but it makes my heart just BEAM to feel this loving validation. To know that there are people who really need us and understand what we are doing.. (and anyone can do this work, it just takes trust and practice and lots of love).
Often times for animal communicators and pet owners, it can be hard sometimes to understand what our own pets are saying to us. AC’s can talk to other people’s pets all day and pick up many things. Communicating with animals is done through the process of telepathy where words, images, feelings, are shared with each other almost instantaneously. When it comes to our own pets, we can doubt or are biased about the messages. For anyone who knows me, they know that my cat Percy and I are attached at the hip. He is a grounding force in my energy work and in my life. For the first time last weekend, I heard him speak to me. He first meowed at me very loudly for awhile and I asked if he was hungry or needed to get downstairs to his box, then I heard very clearly in my mind that he wanted me to get some sun because I had been cooped up and that’s why I was feeling so sick. He was very excited when he saw me actually responding and head outside after him. We sat on the porch together -- the sun was very nice!! -- and he rolled all over in the dirt and was very happy. This is the same cat who told a member of my Animal Communication class that I was being “disobedient” by not listening to him, haha.
This was another bittersweet moment from the week. My friend and I started running a reiki and animal communication group together. We had been trying to decide who would do the very first reading. Each of us told the other they could do it. It ended up being a very sick cat who needed immediate attention. I told her that I wasn’t sure I could do it but of course, began to get messages. She said she could do it and began to get messages as well. I said, why don’t you post what you have, and I will post what I have? I saw that the cat was disassociating from the pain it felt. It was having an out of body experience. I saw it looking at all these colorful marigolds - red, orange, yellow. Both my friend and I knew that the cat was not going to make it long but we urged the client to take the cat to the vet as we cannot diagnose. It turns out that as we were feeling this cat kind of lift out of its body, it was in the process of being euthanized. We honestly witnessed the passing of the cat to a “better place”, for lack of better words. While I feel absolute heartbreak for the guardian of the cat… I also feel very blessed to have shared in that moment.
You see, pets don’t cling to physical life like us humans do. To them death is a part of the cycle of life. Pets are actually more connected to the energy of the other side then we are. Humans chose a life with more contrast. Pets are actually closer to Spirit… which is why I also scoff at those who say talking to them is the Devil’s work. I attended a webinar this week with Karen Anderson who said that the spirit of animals is so pure that it is just a tier below the Archangel’s level, in her experience. To pets, death is not a loss and it is certainly not absolute. They view death as a transition. They are just going to their next phase of life and they spend some time preparing for this. A new plane of reality… and all they feel is love, grace and light when they get there! So to have an animal pass is heartbreaking… and of course none of us would willingly embrace death… but there is still a beauty about it if you allow your pet the dignity, love and respect in their passing.
This cannot be any work of evil. I am blessed to Spirit’s work (whatever represents Spirit to you, insert here). I am humbled and grateful that I can hear voices of those who others refuse to hear out of fear or ignorance. I will keep helping, healing, supporting… those who need me.
